It's still going on another forum after the Aussie exodus. There's nothing there of interest, so it truly is living up to its thread title. The forum in question is almost as dead as a door nail...

With the new heavy handed moderation, idiots will now get a pass. Oh well.

I feel safer.

There is some of that. I strongly feel most people know they have the disease, but they either figure they'll die happy, or it's simply beyond them to do anything about it. Probably a bit more of the latter. I am equally convinced that the day will come when medical science may have the ability to intervene in some effective way to curtail this behavior. People that are alcoholic are simply wired differently; the idea that most people choose to be that way is not what I have observed, and I'm confident I've spent much more time around drunks (active and recovering) than 99% of the people here.

The trouble is that fetal alcohol syndrome is the hidden problem. The kids whose brains are badly affected by their mothers drinking excessively during pregnancy. That "wired differently" thing has more credence that some might think.

Your view is also very defensive. SA's DUI was an aberration, and I believe him on that count. For all the crap poured on him at the time, I suspect there were others here who were hiding their own truths on alcohol consumption.

True. But as is Assassin's style, whole hog one way or the other, with no real middle ground. Typical behavior from a fresh non-drinker, or non-smoker. The punishment in no way fit the crime.

Whether the clueless masses agree with my wired observation hardly changes the reality that it is a rather obvious truth. You know, like evolution. There are people who don't buy evolution theory either.

I must have missed something. I thought calling out idiots was still in-bounds .. you just cannot talk about kittens, or police, or donkeys, or elephants, or razor, but you can still say ass.

Rain and thunder and high winds up in your neck of the woods, huh? Crappy cycling weather.....no wonder you're on the prod. Must be a weird winter up on Mt Doom this year.

I spend the day driving, log on and read all this ****. WTF happened? If soloist is gone from this place, my life will be the most dysfunctional (other than VeloVol, and he is a cyborg). That cannot be allowed to happen,

Go veggie. Damn, I want a steak right now.

Funny how the researchers from Harvard, Cornell, Oxford all say this. Maybe this will become a trend amongst health conscious people.

I had steak for dinner.

I had PBS cooking shows on the telly tonight while on the trainer, and watched other people eat steak.
