Massive facepalm Stoney.

Of course you are right, My sister, now departed, lived in San Fran at the time. I remember going to the Castro street district with her at the time, like an episode of the walking dead. No joke. My dates were in error, I finished med school in 1985 so this little snippet of true romance was my internship year and the time was May, that would have been 1986. As I recall AIDEs at that time was just emerging as a force to be reckoned with, our sexual behaviorlisms at the time were somewhat casual and fearless, or just plain stupid if you will.

Mr. TS's practice wife left him for a woman. It's not that uncommon.

RUOkie 02-24-13 08:38 PM

ok, that's better. I was in college then, and our health service started really pushing the condoms out in '86-87 because of the "new threat"

surgeonstone 02-24-13 08:42 PM

It was crazy, I remember all these men, skeletal, walking like zombies, Kaposi' s everywhere. What a tragedy.

we had lots of that in Jersey when I was in med school/internship.

Everybody watching the academy awards, oh boy.

LesterOfPuppets 02-24-13 09:50 PM

Not me. I'm about to watch a bad movie, though :)

Here's a pic outside the 1954 Oscars...

Hey SS - what's with the retina-searing photoshop of your ride in H-o-N? Seriously, put the unedited versions up.

I got him when he was three months old, I love him. He'll get plenty of treats, walks, and steak :D.

That's rough.

I agree with your plan, for what it's worth.

I put back the originals. How strange is that! A Surgeon who listens!

I saw that one in the theater. I came away feeling that the whole was less than the sum of it's parts.

Damn right. A strict regiment of ginger and apple cider vinegar would cure aids within a week.

Absolutely bootiful. I was dubious about the colour combo but that is nicely done. How someone riding a bike like that can turn women gay is beyond me!

surgeonstone 02-24-13 10:52 PM

Thinking about todays ride and how much I enjoyed it. Part of the enjoyment was no computer, just a nice dataless ride. I should do that more often. Now off to bed, have to be up at 4 am....uggh!

I stay up nights thinking about it...if only.... what if I .....was it my fault.....!

I came up with the design and my daughter suggested the blue orange combo. She thought the contrast would be sharp. She was right. You can't see it but the Arione has a blue stripe of similar color going down the middle.
Here's my dilemma.
I have made this my rain/snow and back up bike having purchased the Merlin Ti/CF with Campy Record. Is this wise- would the Ti/CF handle the elements of rain, snow, salt better than the Freschi steel frame and should I thus make the Merlin my winter rain bike.

Very sorry to hear that. Going through the same thing with our 10 year old Golden, Sam. I wrote a song about it when I heard the news (link below). We'll have him for a few more months, he's comfortable now, no lymph node involvement yet. That's a common killer of larger dogs, cancer.

Only Sam

I heard your song-it's beautiful.

I'm so effin sick of cancer.

Thanks, very sorry you and your dog are going through this. They just announced a 10 year study of pure bread Golden Retrievers, they are trying to get some data on environmental and other factors for canine cancer, Goldens are the most prone to cancer of all breeds. The study could have implications for all canine cancer, not just for this specific breed.

F dog cancer. Sorry to hear of your doggy woes. Extra treats as long as possible.

If I get terminal cancer, I want to go out on steak.
