Well, at least early on, if the landscape remained mostly intact, but gasoline was too expensive for most people to buy, bicycles might take over the roads. And use speedy road cyclists would be the new noble class.

Bikes don't need petroleum fuel, and we're fit enough to ride much more than average people. Bikes can also thread through traffic that would stop a car.

In a post-apocalyptic world, the requisite leather pants and jackets will make cycling difficult.

I wonder if the requisite food shortage would preclude energy expenditure through cycling?

We're all too fat right now, but post-apocolypse that might not be true.

Heh - the irony. I finally have the physique of a climber but cannot afford the calories used on the climb!

You mean it's still pre-apocalypse where you guys are?

Lucky!

It's right about where I like it. Where I like it looks odd on 25mm setback seatpost tho.

I think I got a sunburn today. Not that I'm complaining.

Oh, so you can wander around aimlessly on the MUP, but don't have any time to video an Amtrak train. I see what's going on here.

LesterOfPuppets 02-15-13 03:53 PM

Oh, I have aims. ;)

LesterOfPuppets 02-15-13 04:02 PM

Actually that thing might be a tad forward. I won't know for sure 'til I put road pedals with clips and straps on there, though.

Maybe RG should pitch a training exercise scenario based on that. It's just about as likely as a zombie attack.

LesterOfPuppets 02-15-13 04:17 PM

Actually went to try on clipless shoes today. Grabbed a 40 to see if it would be too small but I couldn't figure out how to get that damn buckle thing to undo. Maybe next time. I'll pic a rainy day.

I look forward to being able to utter that phrase. Still a couple of months away from sunburn danger here.
