True story, former partner of mine, very smart and well trained but one of those guys who always knew he was absolutely right and was always in a rush. Called me into the OR one day in a panic. " Dude, CAN'T find the frikin gallbladder, It is NOT HERE. I scrub in, look around the abdomen for a second and say " It's already been removed".
"What...impossible, the ultrasound said a shrunken contracted GB ".
" Well here are the scars... from the prior Laparascopic GB"

True story, guy was/is a very good surgeon but he got lazy and made up his mind what the problem was without going over everything. His physical exam, pre operatively should have told him a lap GB had been done, faint as the scars were they were there.
