Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hmm.. a "monocoque carbon-fiber frame" just like the Prius? Shift gears based on my thoughts?

Where's the hybrid synergy drive? What happens when the iphone's notoriously short battery life dies?

Like I said in the other thread on this subject - the Prius is an excellent example of misapplied technology. This bike seems to be more of the same...

Guy riding the bike sort of looks like a young Erik Zabel.

So if I am riding my Parlee Prius near the beach and see women in bikinis, will the bike automatically shifter into another gear since the helmet can read my thoughts?

good point. They should have developed some sort of battery recharge system into the cranks.

You're late. Well it wouldn't be the 41 if at least a couple threads aren't duplicated on every subject

A different kind of bike. It's MIND shifting...

And it's a Parlee.

Check out the vid.

That would address both the lack of "Hybrid Synergy Drive" and the iPhone suckitude.

The sooner that you accept that he's smarter than the collective car industry, the better off you'll be.

The Prius looks like a dust buster, the bike looks way better.

When your iPhone battery dies, do you have to pay $4,000 to get a new one? Heck, even the regular battery in the prius is expensive - some crazy shape that you can only buy at a Toyota dealer for $190.

On the plus side, my 58cm bike fits in the back of my wife's prius with the seats down. And 47 mpg on a 6 year old car is nothing to shake a stick at either, although I haven't done the math to average in the 4k battery to see what the fuel costs really would have been.

There is nothing fun about driving a prius. Tiny little wheels make it drive like a skateboard, but if you are a data-driven nerd, it's entertaining to see how high you can get that average MPG number while driving. Be aware that non-flooring-it driving behavior will irritate the dickens out of everybody behind you though.
