personally i liked that tangerine/mango color, but red or blue woulda been sharp as well, i suspect standard black to be the choice as it is most flexible if you get a different bike down the road.

svtmike 03-26-13 09:27 AM

I suspect you went with the "safe" choice -- black. Too bad.

bianchi10 03-26-13 09:41 AM

No matter what color I went with, I would appreciate it if those who hate the color option I went with would Hold back with real negative comments or trying to make me feel like I made a "wrong" choice. Obviously each has their own opinion as to what looks best and I understand that. I am influenced very much by what others think (personal flaw) and really want to give this wheelset the best possible shot to love them. At the end of the day, the wheel will look good no matter which color hub I went with. One just pops more than the other.

Obviously, this is an open forum so say what you want, I'm just making that request.

bonz50 03-26-13 09:57 AM

on your bike, no color choice is ~bad~, your bike is black/white, everything works great as long as you are happy with the choice you'll end up with a great set of wheels, don't fret it bro!!!

Oh FFS, really? Growing thicker skin is harder than trying to control what others type in a thread? At least you admit that it's a flaw..

No kidding, cut the OP some slack! BTW OP, I think you made an excellent selection in wheel build and builder. I think you'll be very happy with both.

If I might make a suggestion, once you get the wheels forget about the gear for a while. You can be assured that you have an excellent ride. Just ride it and focus on personal improvement through riding/training/ fitness--and it won't cost you anything. You'll have the equipment down in spades! Good luck and enjoy!

You must, of course, post your thoughts when you get them.

Just use Stan's tape. It's as light as the velo plugs without the hassle. Plus you are now tubeless ready if you wish to try it at some point.

This is what I do as well....

+1. The hypocrisy in b10's request is very thick. Oh well...

Not sure what you mean by the velo plugs will save you 30 g. Most popular rim tapes only weigh 34 g altogether, so it will be hard to save 30. Maybe the plugs are that light, but I don't think so. I tried them and found the rough edges cut my tubes. Had to abandon them. A good example of going one step of lightening too far. Just my experience. Otherwise I really liked them. Tremendously convenient for getting at one spoke.

Good process and I would say that you tested not only wheels but also your own sense of judgement on what you will spend money on. Good job!

Fox Farm 03-26-13 10:59 AM

Sorry - that was meant as a quote for Bianchi bit I think you/ he gets that point.

There is so much here that is signature line worthy.

This isn't the hot or not thread though. I'm not critical in "show us your black bike" "show us your cadd10" type threads.

I don't see this as hypocrisy. But you can think what you like.

dtrain 03-26-13 12:29 PM

Okay then, Jemaine, we'll try not to hurt your feelings. Thanks for letting me think what I'd like.

Oh ok. And here I was fully expecting to see a pic of your bike with its new wheels in the HrN thread almost immediately after you get them. I guess I was mistaken. Carry on.

bianchi10 03-26-13 12:35 PM

If I post it in the HorN thread then feel free I guess.

bianchi10 03-26-13 01:21 PM

I just stopped in and saw my wheels being built. They are almost done and we'll be able to pick them up tonight. In our conversation while I was there she did say that if I went out on these wheels and ended up not liking them I can always bring them back and she would still give me the deal on the enve. Pretty sweet. I'm on my way home now and I'm going to bust out 1 last ride on the enve set.

By the way, I've never had ANY issues with velo plugs. Bianchi10 you should give them a try.

bianchi10 03-26-13 02:06 PM

I had them on my boyds. I never had an issue. Which is why I opted for them on this C2 build as well.
