They were cheering my solos last night. That never happened before. That was fun.

When you show up with a guitar like that you better be able to play it. It's a problem.

Can't deny that a little slivovitz would have helped. We're expecting 6-10 inches of snow Monday and Tuesday. But above 40 by Thursday!

And everyone on a Colnago is fast.

Meanwhile, I'm watching someone who can really play, Joe Bonamassa, on TPT (PBS). Acoustic.

halfspeed 03-02-13 09:21 PM

Ah crap, they're doing a pledge drive.

LesterOfPuppets 03-02-13 09:46 PM

Today I enjoyed my first baseball game of the year. Caught the local community college's season opener. Apparently they only do 7-inning games on the CC circuit.

We split the double header. 3-0, 0-2. Dang it was cold out there!

Go Penguins!

The potential for this assumption to be completely erroneous cannot be overstated. Consider the road cycling equivalent the next time you pull up next to a fat fred on a $12000 Specialized with Di2.

I may have gotten a few claps and whistles @ open mic night, but compared to the guys who can play, forget about it. I'm a Cat 3 on the guitar. The guys who can play are Cat 1s. I'm hoping to upgrade to Cat 2 within a year or two. I'm working on it.

Seven innings too long.

Good for you! It's inspiring seeing guys your age still out there actively doing things.

now, is that Cat3 or masters? I don't believe you've got the results for your upgrade to Cat3. Can we see your USGA points?

Do you hate apple pie, too?

I don't hate it, but it's way down on the dessert list.

Apple pie is too variable. Everyone makes it differently. Someone offers apple pie, you get excited, but end up with a bland plate of play dough.

For consistency, the berry pies tend to be consistent, as do the merengue's. Unless they start screwing around with rhubarb. Who does that to a pie?

My playing partner JD is 63. Jean, the woman singer we'll be working with is 60. Oh well. Better late than never. But our drummer, Ally is only 26.

What he means is he's going after the drummer, leaving gramma for the groupies.. This isn't my first rodeo!

I have a killer recipe for an apple pie that never fails to impress and is easy to make. The recipe is by, I kid you not, Clint Eastwood. Now I can make apple pie and feel all macho and tough. Always a winner.

Sounds like a good mix for the nursing home circuit.

Velo Vol 03-03-13 06:55 AM

I like chocolate pie.

Our church used to have this program where people did music at the nursing home to cheer the patients up.

I suppose there's a risk of doing the opposite.
