It's actually rather modest. Guys argue with me about the number, but it's very modest. It's just a watts/lbs and acceleration thing. I took 2nd in the field sprint in the 1,2,3 race later in the day. Of course that wasn't good for much as the field got lapped. But I was happy to be able to be at the pointy end at the finish of a very long day in the saddle.

More than anything the masters win was largely due to a very good team of guys. After busting his frame and getting stitches NJ Chris showed up for work this morning and was controlling everything of consequence.

I have not, though I may do that next. I did read "War" (the Sebastian Junger one). Yes, terrible what fighting over there is like.

Have you read Issac's Storm, and The Devil in White City ? both non fiction. the best novel I've read in years is 1Q84 which is a VERY Japanese novel, but I read it 6 months ago and still think about it.

I left on my bike from the house for a ride at 7.30a this morning. 20 minutes or so after I left our dog went nuts barking at the front door. He does this, so my wife tried to ignore it at first. He kept going and then she heard a scraping noise coming from the back of the house. She went downstairs and confronted a guy trying to pry the window open with a plastic tent stake. He kept trying even after she was yelling at him and did not run until she came back to the window with a phone in her hand calling 911.

What kind of eff'd up idiot tries to break into a house in daylight, with a barking dog and someone home.... with a plastic tent stake? It's troubling and despite him not getting anything or doing any physical harm, I've lost some piece of mind.

I reviewed operation of the kitten with my wife this afternoon. Jeebus.
