If it requires more than a few seconds to figure it out then just walk away and spare yourself the torture of having to figure that person out even more later on.

I can't tell which side of it you're on...

Either way, I'm not going to go chasing after her like a puppy dog, but don't feel the need to string her along either. If she wants a game-player, there's no way I'll be happy with her anyway.

My old Ptap hub is effed. I think all it needs is a new freehub body. But it may have to go back to Saris for an overhaul. Oh well.

Don't play hard to get. I'd be more worried that you're on the road to just friends. Initiation of physical contact on next date is key. Hand on her back/arm as you guide her through a door you're holding open for her is a nice, easy one.

You know, for all people think this way, I've let many cats out and they always come back. And they like to watch TV with the people and sleep on the bed, too. And request me to find something to drag for them to pounce on. I'm sure this will be ignored, though.

It's not the first time I've had a lack of contact on date 1 and some of those have gone ok. Going to have a chat about relationship desires next time - frames things fairly well, in my experience, and ferrets out any friend-zone nonsense. No hug on date 2 does mean there's just no way I'm going to keep bothering.

It's just too funny.

Hey Ruokie- I need as good book to read. Just finished an outstanding tome called "The Outpost" by Jack Tapper, a remarkable story of a single outposts history from it's conception to it's demise in Afgan land. Novels or history.

Fixed. Good. No pressure, no rush, just a casual "where are we going" kind of thing.

Unless she's very very shy.

Preferably YOU should initiate the hug or kiss . . . on a second date she shouldn't pull back forchristsakes, this is the 21st century. But don't wait for HER to make the move, YOU make the move.

I promised myself I wouldn't get involved, dammit!

I don't think she's THAT shy. And it wasn't just that she didn't initiate - I can initiate just fine. The thing that happened was there was no opportunity; no talking a couple of feet apart in the parking lot or outside the door. So, I didn't try to force the situation and potentially make it VERY awkward, and figured if we went out again I'd address it then.

Can I play? Try "Merchant of Death".

There's an old saying about tandems. They'll take you wherever your relationship is already going... only faster.

The finishing sprint @ Bethel is this uphill 100-150 meter affair that probably has a max grade of 6-7%, but it's certainly not flat. I shudder to think what kind of watts gsteinb is cranking to beat that fast 45+ field. Gary is like the friggin M. Cavendish of the NY area 40+ race scene.

If you know the movie "Lord of War", that was based loosely on this book. It's non-fiction based on the world's largest private arms dealer, detailing what is known of his transition from (likely) KGB to selling warehouses full of AK-47s to shipping heavy weapons and random cargo all over, in a fleet of Ilyushin jets flown by ex-Soviet pilots. And how he moved to Sharja, flew flower bulbs and other legitimate cargo into the UAE to keep his planes from flying empty and not making money. And how we hired him to fly our supplies into Baghdad because his pilots had had experience evading Stingers while landing from sending weapons into Africa.

That was sort of a random synopsis, but it was fascinating, and it's the book that got me into my Afghan history kick.

You won't regret it! The guy got captured in Thailand a couple years back - not sure if we convinced them to extradite yet or not; I lost track of it.
