Tell you what, I have been riding my old steelie lately and really digging it, great on the rough chip/seal out here.

And really quiet, very very smooth.

Which nashbar frame are you looking at?? I got the all-aluminum road frame for some ridiculous price like $60...it's actually a pretty good frame.

Yeah, that's the one I'm thinking of. Its regular price is $99. I'm not going to pay double that for carbon stays. The plan is to use my old Rival derailleurs and crank with some 10-speed Campy shifters to see if I prefer their ergonomics over Shimano. That will direct what groupset goes on the BD Ti frame - Chorus/Athena mix or Ultegra.

Cool. Just be aware, that frame runs a VERY short TT in the larger sizes. That's why I got it. But if you are tall with a long torso, your upper body might be cramped. The website has the geometry/dimensions. Also it does NOT include a fork. I got a cheap carbon one off of scambay.

Next test: are you aware that the qualities that make for a good GF don't necessarily make for a good spouse and/or parent??

Indeed. However, at the moment, I'd like a long-term girlfriend. Don't have to find a wife.

I'm 5'10.5" with long torso and arms, riding a size 56 S1 right now. If nothing else, it'll let me practice building up a bike before taking a shot at doing it with an expensive frame and components. Unless there's a reputable frame of similar price that has more normal geometry, I'm taking a stab at it. If it doesn't fit, I'm out a couple hours of overtime.

Or you could do like my Mom told me at the age 0f 70.." Ya know, were I able to do it over I'd skip the marriage thing and have a series of lovers."

Lovers are great, but I'd like someone around during the day too. Someone to be at my races and go to the grocery store with.

At least my cat is napping on my stomach right now.

Yeah I would think it could get lonely, though my mom had the busiest social life I have ever seen, a real force of nature.

According to Zinn, yes, the cable pulls are close or identical between SRAM and Campy 10-speed. Cheapest way to play with the thumb levers, and allows use of the scads of cheap Shimano rear wheels.

This stupid thread inspired a pretty good song I just wrote. It's called 'White Noise'.

I will try to get it on Soundcloud this weekend.

You all remain idiots, and thank you.

We know.

Racist title, though.

WhyFi 03-16-13 04:29 PM

Speaking of white noise, did y'all know that ENVE rims only cost about $25 each to produce?
