True, but I'd rather explode, which is possible at 193.5lbs! :(

Whooshie. All black is the way to go.

I thought these critters only lived in Texas and Okie land. They're on their way here! Maybe I'll see one on the road someday.

common roadkill here. Watch out for them. The scales can cause a puncture. And they stink when they are dead.

Normally I'd agree, but I do like his ride with the white saddle/tape.

Heh - what doesn't?

Texted the girl from last night saying I had a great time. Now for the trainer ride, and trying not to worry.

Damnit! Now the wind stops!

LowCel 03-16-13 01:24 PM

It's 60 degrees here and cloudy. Every time I just about talk myself into riding I look outside and it's either windy or raining. If I didn't have a good ride yesterday I would be upset that I haven't gotten out today.

What are you worried about? That she doesn't want to be with you? Better to find out now instead of after 5yrs

At least he wouldn't have to pay to get rid of her now. Five years from now he would have to give her half his stuff.

No, Armadillos are special. I've seen every kind of roadkill possible in the US. (I've ridden by dead goats, cattle, sheep, and every small animal known to the Central US) And Armadillos have a special kind of stink.

They can't be more "special" than a dead skunk.

I generally try to steer clear of all roadkill regardless of scales.

that is unpossible here. Unless I want to ride the trainer

Romantics.

Last summer in Maine my wife struck a small deer with our car (no damage). The truck behind us immediately pulled over and picked it up. Fresh meat, I suppose.

Well for now you'll have to settle for a new bicycle.

Why did you even come back over here? You were writing a song, get back to work.

You're always right Pcad.

Hmm. It's generally not too bad where I ride. Mostly squirrels, occasional skunks and possums.

I've got a bunch of new bike hand wringing to do. No better place than the 41.

I need (italics) a bike for my other house (first world problems). Dragging my race bike back and forth with a dog, kid with guitars and friends, and groceries just doesn't work. Compounding the issue is my race bike is quite long in the tooth. Heck, I'm still on 7800. Compounding the compounding is that no one has come forth offering me new bikes :/

I could get an exceptional deal on a Giant Ultegra (mechanical) composite that would nicely do duty up there as a bike I'd ride Whiteface with and the once a week I typically ride up there. It could have a compact which would be nice for that. It might not have power data though, which would be a demerit.

I could wait and build a new race bike, though I couldn't really afford something of the quality I have now. I'd have to go with an Advanced (no SL) and an outdated DA group. 7800 or (gasp) 7900 (smh). I could go with Ulterga Ui2 and put my 7800 DA SRM on there.

Not sure how good an idea it would be to swap horses in mid stream though. New race bike with the season under way? Might be better off waiting until the fall and punting.

A good hand wringing session ends in absolute inactivity.

Do the bold one. Get a bike you don't intend to race, and the compact will be nice for Whiteface, as well as some of the other fun climbs (I like the "take random turns around Jay" approach). Do you really need power data if you are only there intermittently? Then finish the year on your current race rig, and after the year of climbing on the composite Ultegra, you will know if that is a base you want to improve on or not as a race rig.
