You have my sympathy and sincere condolences.

I'm pretty sure Velo Vol has yet to meet his future ex wife.

I am still working on marriage #1. So far we are 21 years into it, so I suppose we are stuck with each other, for better or for worse.

RollCNY 03-04-13 02:46 PM

Sorry Tampa. I pick on you about the #1, #2, #3, or #4 comments, and mean it only in jest. Good luck, and at least you had gold in the first place. If my wife was a copper digger, I'd be in some real trouble.

And did that mustache come in a spray on applicator can?

i can't really enforce this since it's a little too pot meet kettle when we got married two months after we met. had i actually told someone about it, i might have had my own trachea crushed.

I know it's all in good fun... no worries.

And that wasn't spray on... that was a couple months of torture.

Copper is worth a lot right now. If she was a copper digger, she'd likely be a tweeker.

I've heard that the copper content in one penny is worth MORE than one penny, so there are people hoarding pennies in hopes that the government will discontinue them, making it legal to melt them down for scrap.

  • The composition was pure copper from 1793 to 1837.
  • From 1837 to 1857, the cent was made of bronze (95 percent copper, and five percent tin and zinc).
  • From 1857, the cent was 88 percent copper and 12 percent nickel, giving the coin a whitish appearance.
  • The cent was again bronze (95 percent copper, and five percent tin and zinc) from 1864 to 1962.
(Note: In 1943, the coin's composition was changed to zinc-coated steel. This change was only for the year 1943 and was due to the critical use of copper for the war effort. However, a limited number of copper pennies were minted that year. You can read more about the rare, collectible 1943 copper penny in "What's So Special about the 1943 Copper Penny.")
  • In 1962, the cent's tin content, which was quite small, was removed. That made the metal composition of the cent 95 percent copper and 5 percent zinc.
  • The alloy remained 95 percent copper and 5 percent zinc until 1982, when the composition was changed to 97.5 percent zinc and 2.5 percent copper (copper-plated zinc). Cents of both compositions appeared in that year.

THAT'S right... I remember now. There was a spot on TV about it. This guy would go to the bank and buy $100 in pennies, sort out the pre-1982 pennies, and take the others back to the bank where he'd buy more pennies.

Thanks, RTDub!

Tough break TR, but you're doing something wrong, bro.

Don't forget a bore framinizer and a barrel glominator.

Good point. I have those, but figured WhyFi should get his first set done before jumping in all the way. A chrome fodgellator is also key, but that's a whole 'nuther page.

You're absolutely right. I take full credit for all 4 of them. I know my part, I know my mistakes... and I know now that it's time to be selfish and take care of me first.

Zing.

GOOG's revealing of the Glass project is just plain stupid as well, but GOOG has more to fall back upon than AAPL does. GOOG thinks it is emasculating to be distracted by your smartphone while talking to someone. NOW, you can be distracted while looking directly AT someone. There's progress for ya.

Hey, Sergey, why not just get on board with the whole not checking your social media/e-mail status BF post count every waking minute of the day?

RT 03-04-13 03:49 PM

Google Glass is a little like episode 5.6 of Star Trek: Next Gen

I saw that apparently you can get your bicycle computer readings displayed on the corner of your glasses. Not sure why you would need that when you can just look down at your stem, but they're not marketing to someone like me.
