I have a di2 question. Does anyone know if a long battery mount can be used as a short mount if it is trimmed? I would love to save $100 if possible.

Keep in mind that matte black is a ***** to keep looking nice.

Going from white it can't be any worse.

Good point.

So why no love for the Colnago? I thought it the perfect bike. Personally I always liked color over black. It just seems black bikes have become so common and blah.

Sleeping in on a snowy Saturday morning doesn't work so hot after the painkillers have worn off.

I thought I was done with them already but I think I used that arm too cavalierly yesterday. Definitely needed something to sleep. The swelling has gone down enough that I found the telltale lump. Still hoping I don't end up with a giant gross nub of scar tissue.

I'd rather have 'common' in an understated way than 'common' in a swoopy red/black/white paint job way. Best of all would be something like a Ritte or Baum GT paint job.

I agree with that - all black bikes are common, and worse, don't allow details to be seen. I've become a huge fan of white. Or raw Ti, which I suspect my next bike will be.

Yeah I agree with that, a lot of bikes have gone way over the top and are just loud. Parlee though is a different story. They keep to a beautifully classic selection of colors with the classic panel/ outline options. Go to their website and the paint configurator. It's fun selecting different panel, logo, background options. Class all the way and such beautiful bikes. Were I in the market for a CF bike it would be a Parlee.

I can appreciate the clean, simple lines of a blacked out bike, and usually find them nice to look at, but have also seen so many that they're a little blah to me too. Several years of blacked out motorbikes being the trend probably didn't help.

That all said, while I like color, I have never liked 20 gigantic logos that can be seen from space all over a bike.

Raw Ti bikes have made my imaginary thing go to pokin' since the first time I saw one.

Watching a "futbol" match on TV. English Premier League. The announcer just told the opposing fans to "sit down or you will be ejected" WUT

I can understand if they were being rowdy, but they were just standing.

If you see a Matte black Parlee in person you will fall in love. Just sayin'. Nicest bike I have ever seen. Matte black, SRAM Red with Rotor crank/rings.

Tru nuff. And that's a good thing. I read somewhere where dentists and lawyers had a much higher rate of suicide than the national average.

Oh, I put some info over in Addiction. The night was good - over three hours of talking, largely about pets, jobs, and training. Yes, very cute. And when I said I was exhausted and we needed to call it a night but we could go out again, she did agree that a second date was in order. The thing that threw me was not even a hug at the end, but her profile had suggested she likes to go slow, physically, so I'm trying not to drive myself crazy worrying about that. It's just hard for me not to worry, as you may have noticed.

Talk about flight of ideas.

A wise man once said " who of us has added one cubit to his life with worry. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof."

It is not only dead schmexy, but I tend to be a bit rough with things, and I love the ability to fix scratches with some rubbing pads rather than trying to touch up paint. I'm over my old concerns about carbon durability, but the paint and clearcoat on the top are still vulnerable.

I also feel like a carbon bike can be supplanted by the next, slightly-more-advanced carbon bike, but a good Ti frame is timeless. It may not be quite as good as the carbon ones in some technical ways, but I don't see myself suddenly lusting over the next year's model and wishing I had that instead. Except for the Lynskey Helix. When I was out running a week ago I got passed by a couple of old guys on Helix mountain bikes. I don't even like mountain bikes, but good god those tubes are pretty.

Now that I believe. People I knew from med school that went psychiatry were crazier than loons.
