You mean the low adjustment screw?

Yeah....i think....i'm sure......i think

I meant to say "limit screw"

badsac 01-05-05 08:22 AM

lol. Yeah, it's just a bit bizzare. The things shifting well, right through the range. You'd think that if it was far enough out for the deraileur to hit the spokes then it would be shifting like crap somewhere. Gah, I can see myself quickly making his bike unrideable. Maybe I'll leave it to the bike shop after all. Thanks anyway. :)

531Aussie 01-05-05 09:10 AM

tightening is always safer than loosening....but I s'pose you don't
wanna risk sending the derailleur into the wheel of your buddy's new bike.

I watched about an hours worth of racing, some of it was brilliant. Nice to see one or two banging it in off the line :D

My seppo friend had his seppo friend over from Seattle, had a bit of a farewell (or piss off back home) BBQ at my place for him.

The match sprints probably aren't for me anyway but they sound like fun. Were they running 2 man heats? Should be back at them next week.

How's your riding plans looking next week, I might be up for a ride from Gossy down towards work Tues morning. Do some hills and grab the train at Berowra or somewhere to the city afterwards.

2 and 3. Some of the three 3 man heats were spectacular from a tactics point of view.

I got my Jan programme and on Tuesdays it has just one word: "Hills". No set time, HR zones, or anything. Just get out there and do it. So an early morning ride sounds good.

Unfortunately I now have to do race sims on Wed and intervals on Thu, so I'm screwed there. :(

fark, sounds heavy !! Better you than me... OK, I'll be in touch through PM then, if it looks really wet I won't ride but anything else will be good. What time do you usually head out? I usually get to Gosford by 6am.

I usually head out at about 4:30, but I guess a sleep in could work for me :D

it's farkin' dark at that time, I could give an inch and meet you at 5:30. Sound OK? Are you in Gosford itself or East or West or what? I come in from Erina so go through all of Gosford anyway, let me know where to meet you.

I'm in East Gosford, just up from the shops. I'll meet you at the Mobil on York St (across the road from IGA). Don't bugger up your routine tho, between 5:45 and 6:00 at East Gosford is fine.

You'll be riding the Falcon then? :)

Brian 01-05-05 05:55 PM

There's a blue tongue lizard in my yard that's about as big as my dog. He's taken to hiding in my bike shed and scaring the ***** outta me.

I used to keep them as pets as a young bloke. I think it's actually illegal.

We've had him here for well over a year. He loves cat food, and is quite plump. It's like stepping out your back door to a small croc in the driveway. Keeps the dog amused though. Oh, the driveway where we park our tandem and get all geared up before hitting the road on a bike ride*.

*Obligatory cycling content.

What's the gearing on that thing? 39-17? While you'd make it, it's prolly not a good idea.

I have only two grades: flat and fark a hill!

Kariong Hill is a modest 10 min climb. From Somersby you have a looong downhill, so a fixie is not recommended :) and freewheeling would suck big time. The climb from Mooney Creek to Calga is long and grinding followed by another long descent. After that you have Pie in the Sky which is a 4km climb (5km to the very top) at a steady incline. From there you're pretty much in Cowan. Fast undulations all the way to North Sydney. It's a hoot in the traffic, with speeds rarely dropping below 50kph from Waroongah to Gordon if you get the right sequence of lights. :D

Oh yeah, the roads are pretty rough so leave your Cannondale at home. :)

They seem to be partial to snails as well....shell and all.

It's a 38x18 on the Falcon. Road bike it is then. I don't own a Cannondale, you sure you know who I am ? :)
