Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyway, because I'm bored and it's Friday and I'm an idiot, here's a sneak-peek at what's in the pipeline. Yes, it's carbon fiber, yes it's full custom, yes, the average weight is about 1050g. Due for major launch in July-ish.

Maybe.
You can only read "my top speed/bike/climbing ability is better than your top speed/bike/climbing ability" and "I'm a newbie, which bike should I buy?" so many times before your brain turns to mush. I've posted a couple of 'out there' threads that would make for an interesting discussion over a few beers on a Friday night, but they must've been to far outside mainstream, because hardly any replies were posted. Everyone is safe and warm in the tiny little niche of knowledge that they have. Seems they're not willing to step outside that domain for fear of ridicule in a public (albeit faceless) arena.

Should be a nice frame. But you skipped a step in the evolutionary path of the bicycle: Aluminium

"Should I buy a carbon seatpost?"
"Which of these bikes is better?"
"My knee is sore, what should I do?"
"How much faster will I ride squatting 300lbs?"

Hey dudes ("dudes"? yeah, "dudes"), I need a 1 inch carbon fork
for under $250 or $300 for my 'rainy day', aluminium bike. Good quality 1 inch forks
are becoming very hard to get.

Any suggestions?

I can get a few 'generic' types with alu steerers for about $200, but I wouldn't mind something better.

Terry Hammond has something called a "Roselli" for $250 -- what the hell are THEY?

I don't really ride in the rain, but I do ride on days like today when there's a chance of rain, and still a few puddles around.

On a different tangent, never *ever* have a piss after handling raw chillies without washing your hands thoroughly.

Bikes: a few

From fixed forum:
"I'm getting a custom bike built by Thylacine and as part
of the process I went & got fitted at a Serotta dealer."

You get around, this post is from Chicago. Steel MUST be real

Neither, I'm gonna catch up with a few geriatrics that I haven't seen since early November. Loop of the Lake starting at St Huberts Island.

Ah the (painful) memories. I've done that on more than one occaision. Makes accidental application of deep heat seem like cold cream in comparison

Almost as unpleasant as changing contact lenses after the aforementioned chillies

Bikes: how long have you got?

Oi lads,

had a ride with Nev this arvo, after my......wait for it......the suspense is killing you I know......KENNEDY CYCLE FIT!.....stop laughing Ed!....I now look suspiciously like a 'sandringham doctor' with far to much money to blow on his 'big boys toy'......actually it was pretty good, the 'coaching nazi' was watching me in Sunday's crit....despite the fact that i 'dun good' (missed the break, but got 3rd in the sprint), he reckons that 'under pressure', I was getting to far forward on the bike. " Get your fat arse doen to Kennedy's & don't talk to me until you do", I believe was the quote. thankfully, it was at mates rates, (the 'coaching nazi' is a mate of kenedy's). The result?......way to far forward, way to low on the drops, way to far forward in the cleats...hmmm....feels weird, but I had to promise not to change anything for a month!....oh yeah, & Nev was late again & his weather forecast was out by about 2 hours! (yeah I know, I'm a dobber!)
