today wasnt to bad here in indiana, but i had to work. work days are my off days.

Long range forecast for East coast is below average temps for the next several weeks.

At least it's above freezing during the daytime.

Dress for the cool weather and ride. That's what the big boys do.

At least you get sun.

i seriously can't stand it. 30 with a feels like in the 20s and it's already Spring in NYC.

That's some consolation there.

They keep moving spring back. Every time I look at the extended forecast it is supposed to get into the high 30s+ five to seven days from now. It has been that way for the past three weeks. The warming trend is always coming but today we have "one more day" of unseasonably cold weather. Well today I woke to actual temps of -10F and a 15-foot pile of snow running along the length of my 50-foot long driveway. It looked and felt more like January than the end of March. We often have cold snaps during the spring but this year winter not only wouldn't let go, but struck with a vengance. We got more snow and impassable road conditions in the last four weeks than we get in the average entire winter.

So I checked the weekend outlook. Warmer (YAY!) but only to around 30F with a 50% chance of light snow Friday and Saturday with 18-20 mph winds (un-YAY!). Weatherman apologetically forecast temps of 30-degrees below normal for the next 10 days to two weeks and then topped it off by announcing that we have a 50% chance of major flooding this spring and a 15% chance of record flooding. Oh well, who wants to ride bike when you can throw sandbags?

Sorry, I know I have made several posts about our crappy spring, but there really isn't much else going on in my cycling life except for another week on the indoor trainer.

This time last year it was in the 80's here.

I'm wondering where spring is too....seems like summer just started here in Texas this past weekend! Monday's high hit 91 degrees....................................

I wish Hawaii had more than one season...I love the rain here though, well, except the down pours...I have a bad habit of getting hit by bus tsunamis...

The weather hasn't changed since january for us, and all the mtb tracks are still covered in jaged ice. Still stuck on my trainer. You know your from the midwest when the prospect of 35 makes your day.

This is o e of the years where we go from winter straight to summer... The how hot is to hot posts are right around the corner...

It's not here.

Couple of hours south of the OP and it's not here either. I guess spring is taking an extended vacation in southern California from the looks of things.

I'm not expecting anything spring-like for another 6 months ... autumn has only just begun. The temperatures have only just started dropping from scorching heat to something reasonably tolerable.

One forecaster yesterday said maybe up to three months weeks of this pattern

Here's to hoping this is the end of winter. The forecast for the weekend predicts much indoor activity, lots of TV and gaining a few pounds.

The weather guessers around here are incapable of giving an entire forecast in one sitting. ADD in the broadcasting industry runs rampant. You get the forecast in bits and pieces across 30 minutes, and you hear more about what MAY be happening somewhere, sometime in the next few days than you do about the weather for that day.

Two weeks ago ... on the Labour Day long weekend ... :) It was about 35C that weekend ...

Yeah...what is so disappointing. Same here. Below freezing today as I write this.
Last march I was on my roadbike in short sleeve kit riding along. Pretty astonishing how warm it was.
Funny I remember passing a very hot chick on a bike last year in March and remarked to her...it felt like summer. :)
By contrast, it feels like f-ing January here...and no break out in sight...just gradual warming. Hoping for some mid 50 weather in April.

I found spring!!! It's down here, on spring break.

Yea, I was gonna start another ranting thread about cold, but I will just rant in here !

It is getting to me. The cold. Day after day after day of getting up at 5 in the morning, psyching myself up, crack open the chemical warmers, gear up, ride, and come back with frozen frost bitten fingers and ice in my water bottle :cry: I am mentally burnt out. Took pretty much the entire week off from riding. When will we be actually comfortable being outside on the bike ? Where is that 65 degree morning and 85 degree afternoons ??? But then on another note .. Do we really want warmer weather ? The hope .. The warmth ? Only to be slammed by cold again ? Or should the spring and summer just be cancelled, and move on to another hallowen and keep going on with winter ? !!!!

Wisconsin here; clear roads is what I'm praying for. As long as the sun's out the ice/snow will melt and milder temps will assist. Crashing in icy/snowy roads is no fun. Like many here I've learned to deal with the cold, but I'm anxiously waiting for milder temps and dressing with less layers.

It's been cold here too, but I can deal with cold. I rode outside all winter. What's killing me is that it's cold, cloudy, and the wind has been 15+mph every day for the past two weeks. I'll go on the group ride tomorrow morning, but every time I think about going out solo, I end up going to the gym instead :)
