Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm full of myself. But with all the dieting and exercise, that is changing.

My yellow bar tape and white cables is the bees knees. I'll take a pic on my ride today.

Yup, butted. While tightening, I've been holding the spoke with my free hand to see how much it's twisting, then turning backwards to relieve. But you're right - no reason not to double-check my triple-check, though; I'll go over them again and see if I can twist the spoke wrench backwards without the threads slipping.

Hold the wheel horizontally in front of you, like a bus driver's steering wheel. Then push down on the sides with your forearms, like you're trying to bend it into the shape of a Pringle. Turn it 90 degrees, do it again. Then flip the wheel over and repeat. This will cause the spokes to slacken and release any wind-up. You'll know you're done when you can perform this procedure and wheel stays true.

I am so friggin cold. this is a really dumb sport.
I hate when that happens.
