Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sprint duathalon Saturday morning, 1.8/10/1.8. I rode the 6 miles there and back as well. 56 miles today. Weather was fantastic both days, although just a tad chilly for west Texas in may (hi 40s to start, low 60s to finish).

64 mile group RAMROD training ride Saturday on the tandem. 40° warmer than last Saturday. We hit the climbs with everything we had so that we were exhausted the last 6 miles or so. Sunday it was even warmer and we did a 46 mile recovery ride by ourselves. It was a kick to roll along on the flat in Z1, like being a kid again.

70º+ and no rain Friday through Sunday in the Seattle area. The recent spring rains here have really made things green. All the blooms look beautiful against the bright blue sky.

Friday evening a 16 mile cruise, Saturday a quick 10 mile workout, today a 28 mile group ride. A relaxing weekend on two wheels!

Monday - it's Monday afternoon here, and we were able to get out for a 17.82 km ride. Today was sunny, with light winds and a high of 18C ... a beautiful day to be outside.

Did a 48K+ (originally planned 45k) run up towards Mechelen Belgium, was an amazing day! Other than getting lost a few times, having to turn around when I arrived at a place I knew I was not supposed to pass, it was great! Hoping next weekend to push all the way into Mechelen and make it a 60K ride.

Not all that wonder are lost, but I sure was.
