Okay, eff this - I'm out for the night. Don't want to burn through my phone battery when starting up the car is the only way to recharge and, compared to WiFi, the cellular network is frustratingly slow.

WhyFi 06-23-13 06:23 PM

...besides, with the electricity out, I need to drink the rest of my variety 12-pack of New Belgium before it spoils.

Sorry to hear about the power out must have missed that. Don't let that 12 pack spoil!!!

Dannihilator 06-23-13 06:30 PM

50 miles today, cut grass then went for a leisurely 5 mile ride.

Yes, HDR can be tastefully used. The reality, though, is that it's used in a heavy-handed manner 98% of the time. Yeah, I'm okay with throwing out a tool when a) it's so frequently abused b) alternatives exist.

Also, just because the eye has a greater DR than any current sensor, and multiple exposures can have a greater DR than a single exposure, it does not mean that HDR more closely mimics the way eyes see... because it doesn't.

Sounds like the auto-tune of photography.

In other news, my chigger bites have turned into impressive pimples. I am trying to resist popping them.

I don't do HDR. Prefer to work with the light levels that are provided.

Makel 06-23-13 07:49 PM

I just googled chigger bites images.. I'm never walking in grass again.

Bah Humbug 06-23-13 07:54 PM

It is, indeed, not pretty, and also not pleasant. I'll be taking shoes and warmup pants to all future races in case I have to walk through grass. My feet (well, mostly right foot) is worse than my face was when I was 14.

Looks tasty.

Dannihilator 06-23-13 09:12 PM

Had pasta with olives, fresh mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, and chunk tuna.

Bah Humbug 06-23-13 09:15 PM

I, meanwhile, am having a PB&J. You all get better food than I do.

rjones28 06-23-13 09:18 PM

BTW, my picture was from a wine tasting event I attended with Mrs. rjones28 this weekend. Hence, the mini serving of food.
