We are going to get rained on. BH don't know if it'll get that far north but your run date might get wet.

Won't be an issue; we can do food and Netflix if it's uncivilized outside.

some plants have been squished. :(

Back to bridges.

LAJ 06-07-13 11:55 AM

It's hard to dodge everything when there is a complete tear-off.

But you will have a new roof.

BillyD 06-07-13 12:09 PM

Interestingly, there has always been a Peregrine Falcon nest atop one of the towers on this bridge. I've not been able to determine which tower.

Looks like the nest boxes are placed beneath the bridge.

RollCNY 06-07-13 12:55 PM

Bill, that is the Poughkeepsie bridge, correct? If yes, is there a means to cycle over it?

No wonder I could never find a nest. lol

Good info Mac, doesn't appear to be any birds currently occupying nest.

Yes, that's the bridge to Poughkeepsie, but it's one of those bridges I've never cared to cycle across because the walkway is narrow and you have to dismount to pass any people.

You'd be much better off taking the nearby Walkway Over The Hudson, a tourist attraction and very pleasant ride.

You'll have the opportunity to show her your CPU then.

yeah, i'm not mad, it's just a bummer. i wish i would have thought about pulling the window boxes out (that i just planted last weekend), and had known that they don't really have a special way of shoving the stuff any more neatly off the roof than onto tarps on the ground. the one expensive shrub it looks like they sort of covered it with plywood, but the plywood has about 2' of shingle on it. there's a *lot* of crap all over the ground but i understand there's really nowhere else to put it. i remember how much material there was just from the tear off of the dormer. it took me a whole day to pick it all up and we crushed plants as well.

Netflix = bad.

Nesting summaries for the last two years seam to indicate that we just missed them. Need to look for them in late March.

For some reason, bees keep getting into my office and dying on the windowsill. It's weird.

You should find a way to keep them out. We need all the bees we can get.
