How fast do you pull?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm more in the 18-20 MPH range when I ride alone, if I get out with a friend or two we usually up the average to 22-23 depending on wind speed, etc. My best bud does triathlons so when I do ride with him he usually does all the pulling and we are in the 23-25 MPH range...I don't think I'll ever be that fast on my own, but trying to get my avg up year by year.

I've got a group with three other guys of around the same ability. We try to pull between 33-35 MPH for 16-17 seconds then pull off. To smooth things out we take off our brakes and ride in the same gear. Hope this helps.
