Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ritchey Biomax Handlebars

Has anyone tried to put clip-on aerobars on them?

I'm thinking about getting the Biomax but not sure if the aerobars will flare out given the shape.

Thanks.

They may flare out, as there is a slight bend on the tops. I have these bars on 2 of my bikes, and really like the feel. I've not mounted aerobars, though.

I just took @ peak @ the bars. It doesn't look like the part (next to the stem) is curved, so depending on where you mount the aero bars, you may be okay. I will take a pic from directly above the bars to give you an idea of what I'm referring to if you'd like.

I also have the Biomax on 2 of my bikes. Haven't tried aerobars, either...

Can someone tell me the difference between Ritchey's Biomax, WCS, & their Pro bars ???
I just ordered a set of the Pro OS bars. I don't think they make the Biomax in 31.8 and I didn't want to spring for a new stem on a bike that's a week old....
I ordered new bars to get a somewhat shallower drop, a flatter top, & the anatomical bend in the drops.
I really like the FSA Wing Pro bars too with their ovalized top portion too. My ideal bar would be to combine the ovalized top from the Wing Pro bars with the anatomical drop & shape of the Ritcheys.

BTW - Shopping for handlebars on the net is very frustrating. The pictures aren't always clear. Some websites have the same picture for all of a particular brand's bars.
