Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here's is a guess

Did you have the bolt on the seatpost collar toward the rear? If so it may have been putting undue stress on the tube for the same reason that it can damage CF seat posts. If the open end of the collar is aligned with the slot in the seat tube it has a tendency to flex the edges in when tightening the bolt. This can crack a seatpost and I suppose would stess the seattube as well. The untrafoco tubeset used on the SuperProdigy is VERY thin.

I've noticed that the diameter of some CF seat posts can vary widely, both between seatposts and along the length of individual seat posts. If it takes more than a couple turns of an allen wrench to go from a fully loose seat post to a fully tight seat post, there is probably too much play to be safe on so light a frame.

So does that mean they are replacing it for you? Cool.

I have the black which I am pretty sure is faster than the red. I know it handles better.

Go with the black

They have said, but they said they'd have a look at it, and they have been very helpful

Do you find it stiff enough when out of the saddle?

Update, 4th June in case anyone cares

I'm pretty happy with the repair that i finally had done. I was expecting a big ugly weld beads, and I wasn't expecting it to be repainted. All for about 40 bucks US.
