Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Decide now for the important question

I have decided on the Tarmac expert. After weeks of back and forth between this and the lesser comp with di2, I think the best one is the expert. The color for this bike is terrible. It has two choices white and red, or a neon type blue and yellow. My question is I don't care either way, and they both would have to be ordered by lbs. so if you were choosing this bike which would you go with. (When I say I do not care I really mean I care, its just a coin flip thing) on one hand I do not care for all that white. One the other. I do not want to hear nice bike dude; does it come in guy colors, in reference to the neon job. of course I know I will get the responses that I should not care what people say, yet it is just annoying to hear the same tired thing all the time. https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bik...mac-sl4-expert

Bikes: are better than yours.

Flourescent colors are "in". You're going to see a lot more of them in the next few years. Red/white/black combinations have been done to death. So, would you rather be in front of or behind the trend?

Which were your other bike choices besides this one?

To answer one of your questions " so if you were choosing this bike which would you go with?"... NONE of those.

I'd try to find one of last year's Tarmac bikes, they looked AWESOME. This year's line look like Speed Racer Mach V's.

Depends a lot of the tarmac but there's a lot of stuff in the market for less money.

I did, and found an expert di2 that looked good, yet it is a 10 speed, and I want the 11 on the 2014. good thought though.

I would love to shop with you for underwear. I'll bet that is a hoot!

Especially if you'll only wear on 'special' dates.

Even the S-works bikes now have flat-black minor paint that is the same design that makes no sense regarding the shapes of the bikes.

Here is a better pic, I actually like it from this angle, yet I could not see zipps 404s on it.

Bikes: Now I Got Two

Black will always have those that love it and those that hate it, every year. As far the florescent, everyone will hate it by year after next....

I'd go with the red/white. That color combo is classic and universal. I've had the itch to go to more unconventional colors in the past...but if you get sick of it, then what. Personally, I think the blue/yellow is rather obnoxious...

I'd go with the blue. I just don't like red highlights.
