Handlebars... Too many to choose from

Agree. The bars are probably the last thing I would worry about changing. The OP admits he has no idea what he is looking for, so my guess is that there isn't a problem and he just wants to blow a wad of cash on something. Blow the money instead on nice colored tires or some nice bibs. Bars will probably run around $100, maybe upgrade the POS stock seat or some good shoes. Seriously, swapping out the bars just because is a tremendous waste of money. There are so many other things to waste cycling money on. For me, when I was new to the sport, my best investment was in a nice pair of Castelli bibs.

OP, save your money. I have a feeling that you will be purchasing a whole new "upgrade" bike with a compact double in the very near future. If you are concerned about being aggressive and reducing weight, that triple is going to bug the crap out of you shortly. By then you should have a better feel for what you like and don't like on a bike. Right now, I suggest you rack up the miles on the bike you have and don't mess too much with it.

Picking bars for the new ride, not as easy as pedals (same) or seat (same, and already in my garage, bought two on Nashbar last year, one to replace a worn out, t'other for new ride ...someday), but not too bad.
Starting with what I have, Deda Big Piega 44cm, which I like o.k.
From there, I want a bit more reach, but the drop is o.k.
So, just checking vendors I like, lbs and interwebby, started keeping notes, then found SynTace Racelite2 (Left Lane, which is right here in town, haha!), which matches up with what I was looking for and not terrible expensive.
...well, $150 IS terrible expensive for a handlebar, but it's soooo cool! And, it's not over the top blingy, being German and all. I'm in love!
I'll admit that the difference between suggested retail and what I paid makes me grin, ahem, however, it seems to be a very nice bar.
Syntace offers a ten year warrantee.
The German documentation is so very dry, with just a sprinkle of humour.
I just can't wait to try it - the rest of the bike is on the way....
