Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First trainer?

For some reason rollers look fun to me. At any rate.... if you could do it again, what would buy for your first trainer?

A used Kurt Road Machine off ebay. Could end up being your only trainer.

Me is buy the e-motion rollers. I love to ride my rollers but without resistance use them only for recovery rides right now and use my cyclops for intervals.

I'd probably buy exactly what I bought for my first trainer - a basic fluid trainer. I could maybe convince myself to go with a KK rock and roll or set of rollers with resistance if I wanted to upgrade - but my first purchase has taught me that I would much rather be out on the road!
