Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So bite my tongue! I'm not a lawyer, just a dude who took some law classes once upon a time.

I ride year long 15 to 40 miles daily.
Works fine in Seattle. Best to do sparingly, like when it's safer to be out in the lane than not to. You have to use your judgement to know when that's the case.

You might annoy the driver(s) behind you, but they aren't going to murder you because of a minor annoyance.

Do what you gotta. A bike is very vulnerable among cars. The reverse is not true. They can brake and accelerate with the tap of a toe, and furthermore, drivers seem to get collectively STUPID while driving.

So take it when you need to, to be safe.
