Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Are you guys disagreeing with group think by proposing alternate group think?

I propose to each his own... except in the case of up turned stems, we simply cannot have up turned stems.

The lighting or way it was photographed has nothing to do with the lack of eye appeal for me. Like others have said, there is nothing wrong with the bike. It is not ugly by any means, but it is just blah. I wouldn't turn my head if I walked by it because there is nothing to draw my eye towards it other than it being a bike. Some people really prefer the understated look with not a lot of flash though. To me Felt bikes either look really good or really cheap. You set out to build a budget bike and did so nicely, though that will gain you nothing in a thread designed to judge based off of how a bike looks.

Some of you seem to think the prime objective of this thread is to be rude.

The rudeness is what's "New and Improved" over the original.

Who says white garage doors are best?! Pssh. I don't like green but this is hot in the correct setting. However, you sure need to cut the steerer... saddle is pushed all the way forward and white wiring seems an odd choice for a cross bike? But Hot nonetheless.

Great looking bike, but I'm pretty sure this is the road forum. That sir, is not a road bike.

I came here to say the same thing. Ever since crapping dig top tube was pointed out to me, I haven't been able to un-see it.

Bikes: Luzerne, 684, Boreas, Wheelhouse, Alize©®, Bayamo, Cayo

Being penalized by Specialized for being tall, sucks. There are better choices out there for tall riders, but as you went with this one, you likely did your research.

As I ride an Alize©®, no Specialized bike will ever get a hot, but yours is warm.

yeps, those are PDX's for the mud and mini-v's for the more stopping and less fork shuttering.

just curious, what would be an appropriate housing color for a cross bike?

Cockpit = Not, not even close, honestly one fo the ugliest designs ever.
Rest of Bike = Very hot.

btw, it's not staged properly. Pedals are supposed to be at 9-3. Big chainring, small cog. Wheels should be Valve Stem down.
