I am looking for anyone who has experience with different cassettes. I am looking for a cassette that's 10 speed and preferably has 12-28 or 12-27(more popular). I just got a new sram red group on my tarmac and would like a lighter and quieter cassette if anyone has any suggestions or experiences that would be great.

SRAM cassettes are notorious for being loud. Try Shimano.

Ultegra? I have no issues on both of my bikes with Shimano cassette

I shouldn't have any problem with a sram drivetrain and shimano cassette I guess? I have the roval rapide clx 40 wheel set. Would you guys recommend 105 or Ultegra? Dura ace is pretty expensive and i don't want to drop that kind of money into a cassette.

You can get 10 speed ultegra cassettes cheap now. If not, I think you would be totally fine with 4600 cassettes.

try a kmc chain. its quie with sram cassette. you said you want lighter?
sram red is lighter than ultegra or 105.

I second the KMC chain solution. The Red cassette isn't noisy per se, but its hollow structure can magnify noises produced elsewhere (like many carbon wheels also do). The noise originates with the SRAM chain, not the cassette. Shortly after buying into my first Red group, I switched to the KMC X10 SL chain and have been dead silent ever since. Running three bikes that way now. The cheaper and better solution is the KMC chain.

Which SRAM red, there are significant design differences in the red class.

And which noise do you not like? Which cog does it happen in? 12 or 28?

If you are talking about the current generation of SRAM red 1190 cassette. At 150 to 185 grams, who makes a lighter cassette?

Even in older SRAM 10 speed models, the 1090 had three varieties CX, XG, OG... The only "loud" one is the OG, but at $300 you are pAying to announce you have the most expensive cassette on the road.

Spin's titanium nitride cassette is light at 96grams. Plus, at £249, it's lighten your wallet, too.

+1 on Shimano, I have a 5700 105 cassette on one and a 6800 ultegra on another and they are both pretty quiet.

That is a loud cassette. Garish even.
