Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Isn't Sano the Japanese guy who manufactures wooden bikes (mahogany I think)?
I could be wrong or there may be no connection whatsoever.

need to see the drive side and better pictures of the shifters to know what the deal is. If it's 7 or 8 speed, regardless of the manufacturer, you're probably not looking at more than $250-$400 market value. 9-speed, maybe more toward $500, depending on your location.

Either way, it looks like a pretty decent ~10-15 yr old bike.

(for the record, my two road bikes are 12 and 21 years old.)

Marty Williams was the custom builder of Sano bikes here in Huntsville, Alabama. He's out of business now but a lot of local riders still have his bikes. He did steel, aluminum and carbon.

Check the "What's it worth?" forums but my guess is around $500.
