aren't tights supposed to be tight
I bought a new pair of bib tights to replace my old QR tights that were getting thread bare. The QR tights I liked. I have bought two trying to replace them. Both of them have the same problem. They really aren't tight, especially in the crotch. They are not comfortable walking around in. It's as if they have no support. And the loose material in the crotch gets stuck on the saddle. Am I just not buying expensive enough tights? Or should I buy tights without the chamois and wear padded shorts? I have thought of doing the really immoral thing of wearing something under the tights. I know that is a real no-no! But I am frustrated. The QR tights were snug in the right place.

You're getting very bad advice so far, so ignore everything you've read. The answer is simple ------- pizza and beer. Lots of it. The bibs you purchased will eventually fit and no need to buy more of a smaller size.

I have nothing to add. The pizza and beer advice was spot on.

I had the same problem with saggy crotch tights.
The only thing that finally worked was wearing a jock strap over the top of the tights to hold it all together.
I use the pouch to hold all the girls phone numbers I get on my rides.

if regular pizza & beer doesn't work, try some Chicago style pizza and a pitcher of nice a ale or porter

I am glad that I provided an opportunity for a little humor. My PI (not QR) tights are just the same size as the other two. And they fit. I can't seem to find these particular ones anymore. They are prob 6-7 years old. I just don't want to spend more money on a product that isn't doing the job.

My 14 yo nephew has the smallest size bibs made and they look like shorts on him. I laugh when I see it, but he can ride pretty fast without injury so I don't worry.
Bill, do you NOT agree with posters recommending the next size down? I would support this theory with PI, mainly because part of my sizing includes the length of the bib strap, any smaller size I order and I can't stand up without a bit of... soprano singing... you might say.

I bought a pair of Pearl Izumi bib knickers last year and they don't fit as well as my Pearl Izumi shorts.
The shoulder straps are much more stretchy than my regular bibs and don't hold the pad/chamois in place while riding.
So, I think I know what you mean, Bill.

The way to tell if bibs fit correctly is that they feel like you're gliding on air while on the bike, and like you're back in jr. high school getting a wedgie when you're off the bike. At least that's what I've come to realize.
