Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

“Today I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers … after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place,” Watts wrote on her page.

Watts wrote that she had been speaking with her father on her cellphone when an officer approached her. A few minutes later, two police officers put her in handcuffs.

An internal complaint investigation has been initiated regarding the incident, police said.

But you can't ignore the past, pretend it didn't happen or that its impact isn't still felt today. I grew up in the post civil rights South. In your town, in fact. Things have changed quite a bit, and it isn't as socially acceptable to behave in a manner I learned as a child. But that, I think, is still a thin veneer.

Earlier I saw @RollCNY responded to a post, but now it has disappeared.

Let the record show that the now non-existent post explained his position much better than the original post.

Meanwhile, @WHOOOSSHHH... is making a bid to become BF philosopher. #wut

Oh, and this is the only time I'll post this, but congratulations, @BillyD on the Cowboys win today.

yeah, it's much like blow boater is a pejorative power boaters use for sailboaters.

That said, my last cruising boat had a Perkins 4-236 and could pretty much pass for a a trawler when under power. We drove over the Bay Bridge last weekend on a perfect sailing day. There were tons of boats out going every which way. I used to look at that and want nothing more than on be on one of them moving slowly with no rigid schedule and no set destination... somehow I've lost all interest in that.

I think this might be related to my much reduced alcohol consumption.

A sailor would traditionally call a power boat a "stinkpot". On our boat we prefer the term "damn stinkpot".
