Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yep. Destroy your computer, don't read any magazines, and wear a blindfold in your LBS.

Or just upgrade...

yes, there is a cure. but, it's so expensive, you'll come out cheaper just buying the new bike.

If you have the financial capital, execute a hostile takeover of all the bike and component manufacturers worldwide. Then make yourself the official beta tester.

Doesn't work, at least with me. Now there's 11 speed electric, lighter aero wheels, more aero frames, and on and on. The perfect bike is perfect until newer things come out.

My Wilier started out with a mix of Chorus and Athena. It's almost all Super Record now. In my defense, everything taken off got used on a Kona Jake the Snake frame set I bought from Bikeman.com. But now I feel the need to replace any Athena parts on the JTS with Chorus. So, no, for me there is no cure.

Not only that, desire is the force of life. So get a life that doesn't involve bikes.
