Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

best roof mount rack for carbon fork that will fit Thule Sq load bars?

my Thule rack is ancient, but works. the tray and skewer i use now are ok, not great. just purchased and installed a Rocky Mounts tray with locking skewer. at the end of their install video it says carbon forks void their warranty.

are there any universal trays or trays that will fit a Thule Sq load bar based rack? i searched on here but did not find anything current.

I don't have any experience with the racks, but there are two options that I know of. Yakima's Sprocket Rocket and Forklift models will fit Thule crossbars. In fact, I saw a car parked next to mine with a Thule bar setup with Yakima fork mount attachments next to mine. I was not sure which of the two models they were.

Void whose warranty?...
What you are speaking of pertains to the legal issue of safety tabs...many owners will remove them out of convenience...not carbon forks on 80% of all road bikes sold.

Watch the video again. RM would sell 3 fork mounts a year if they weren't applicable to carbon forks.

i called Rocky Mounts and they stated they do not cover carbon dropouts and do not recommend fork racking them for fear they will snap.

I've run rockymounts for the last two+ years and use them with my full carbon dropouts and my carbon/aluminum dropouts.. They work just fine and are still standing strong to this day.
