Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Master to be fixed, chromed and painted

Hi,
I have a Colnago Master frame, bought in Europe 7 years ago. I need to fix and repaint it. Do you know someone able to do it? I love this frame, I don't care $ or where I have to ship it. I just want it back as it was originally, paint, chroming, etc.

I'd start with a call to Colnago. If that didn't pan out to satisfaction, I'd contact a custom builder or 2 and see if they were willing to take it on.

Colnago apparently doesn't have a specific USA company but they do have an exclusive distributor and a line of dealers.

I'd contact these people first - www.trialtir-usa.com - and expect them to lead you to a dealer.

If you go through Colnago it will cost you $$$$. The wait will vary depending on what you want done. It could take up to 6 months if they have to send it back to Italy. There are many different places that you can go to repaint your ride.

If I remeber when I called Colnago they gave me the name of someone in TX that they use. I will try to see if I have his name somewhere.

Send me the frame and $800 cash and I'll get it fixed and painted for you. Process will take about a year and it might be showing a little wear when it's returned to you.

What size is it again?

Did you call Colnago?

Well, considering that I was going to get the frame fixed, build it and ride it for 6 months, then get it painted before sending it back, I guess that throws a wrench into my plans. Jeez....
