I'd be a little worried about mashing (gnashing?) teeth with that setup since if the chain isn't wide enough to cover the tooth of the cog, all the force is on one point on the convex surface...

take off the freewheel and just screw on a cog (~$20). swap as needed. Not an ideal case, but about as cheap as I would bet my safety on if you rotafix and use grease and a BB...
