Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Sexed up my pedals a bit--went from some ****ty Bontrager joints to some MKS GR-9s with All-City cages and some synthetic leather double straps. Gotta look out for those cows.

And I just ordered the "Damned to Ride" shirt from Retrogression. Can't wait to be the most kvlt rider in town

How do you guys like the Turbo saddle? Thinking of getting one. And I saw quite a few pages back that Scrod got some ThickSlicks. How are those?

And to keep this relevant, I got some Dia-Compe bar-end brake levers.

The new 1980 reissue Turbo rules. I wouldn't know about the ThickSlicks. The day after I ordered them, our distributor told me they were on backorder until June. FML.

Just got my Topeak Joe Blow Pro floor pump today, and my initial impression is very good. Seems sturdy and works well on both presta and schrader valves. You need to be careful not to smash a finger between the pump head and locking lever when removing after inflation. It pumps very easily up to 100 psi and then gets noticeably harder when increasing up to the 160 psi maximum. Having the gauge at the top is very nice and it seems precise when compared to hand gauge. I also like the air bleed button, head dock and handle clamp. Hopefully the head and hose will last for a while, as there have been some negative reviews in this regard.

Tejano,

I used to use a car cigarette lighter power air compressor to inflate car tires and bicycle tires. Then about 1 month ago I bought a floor pump with an integrated pressure gauge. It was so easy to use, gauge was super handy, and I could work on the bikes inside my house without taking them outside in the winter. Felt stupid not having made the purchase earlier.

Just bought new cog ring 18T, lock ring, lockring wrench (Park Tool HCW 17), MKS Stream (lovely shiny metal) to go with new toe clips for my Chrome Kilo. Installed the MKS with steel toe cages and black strap and am loving it.

The lady's roommate has this pump and I sneak a use all the time. Super sturdy and easy to use pump, in my opinion. I haven't had issues with the pump before, but it hasn't seen a whole bunch of use yet (I use it more than anyone else and I don't even use it that much).

Bontrager grip tape

Tektro R100a ergo levers

Bontrager Race Lite ergo bars

I SUCK at taping bars. I did ok this time, but you can definitely tell which side I taped first. At least it's comfy. *shrug*
