Currently, I have two. I can't help but want a third. There's just something about it.


My first fixed gear was an old 10 speed '77-79 or so (my dad bought the thing when he was in College, and now I have it) Motobecane Super Mirage. I converted it, and I like the thing, it needs some lovin' and parts here and there, but being that the thing is just plain too big for me, in the range of abouts 60-62cm where I need a 56, I'm not sure I want to invest on parts and etc. I'm even considering fixing up the old 10 speed and setting that one back up with its gears and all..

Second bike is a Masi Speciale Fixed Ultimate, sofar it's being kept stock. Tool around the neighborhood on it, taking it down to the business park and try to stay away from the many hills I live around as it is brakeless. I use the Moto for the longer travels, it's not too bad, despite being a larger frame.

I want a third bike that I will start as a frame and build up. Is this something common to most of you?

I think I have 13 bikes now...

i can't imagine having two fixed gear bikes. maybe if i was into fgfs but i don't think even then...

i can see having a townie/cheap lockup bike and a regular, but as long as i'm going to have a whole bike dedicated to being not nice, it will coast at the very least.

To both of those, I agree. I somewhat want a 3rd bike so I have something I can lock up. My moto has too much sentimental value to lose, the Masi was too much of a lump sum to lock up, though with Kryptonite's insurance of sorts as long as I lock it properly, I'll get all my money back...

Guy at work does CX and it just seems like something that would be glorious. His CX is ss, I'd even consider rolling fixed CX. After rolling fixed for months straight, once I flipped my hub to ss I almost died I wasn't used to not being able to slow myself and set my feet in the cages while still at the top my driveway... rolling down nearly out of control when you're not used to coasting is quite an interesting experience!

I have 2. A nice track bike and a **** commuter bike for locking up. Couple frames aswell but they dont count!

I've got two. My Sputnik Fixie and my old Univega road bike.

I'd honestly like a few more bikes. A nice mellow town bike, so when I ride with slower people I have a way of keeping my pace down, a more track oriented FG(Moto Teamtrack plz) a legit roadbike, I really want a Jamis aurora, and a legit trail bike. I'd keep my sputnik in my bedroom with me because thats the **** that got me addicted to riding.

-Decent road bike (Fuji Team CF)
-Beater (1990 Specialized Sirrus SS)

I want:
-CX bike
-MTB
-Nicer road bike
-Touring bike for my (hopefully next summer) x-country tour

I'm good on track bikes, though. Unless I mess up my current track bike or it gets stolen, I don't see why I would need another.
