Rare Japanese Old Bicycle frame City/Commuter?
Hi,
New to the forums. I came upon an interesting bicycle frame while I was visiting the philippines. The frame below is a rare japanese bicycle frame according to the owner. He mentioned putting on shimano parts, but i'm not sure how I would go about finding these parts. The owner said the parts were hard to find in the philippines. If anyone knows anything about this bicycle frame or could give me a starting point I would greatly appreciate it. I'm located in the states and I would like to be able to find some parts so I could send it to him.

Rare? No. Looks like a fairly run of the mill "hey let's be cool and make a frame with elevated chainstays" mountain bike frame from the early 90's that some idiot has paintbombed.

I was ignoring bikes when these were in vogue. Searching for "elevated chain stays" brings up many hits including this thread on BF
the "good news" is that you can use a belt drive without any modification.
