Will you guys please help compile a list of currently available complete track racing bikes as a reference?

This will help the very new racers know what's out there. Let's try to limit the list to race bikes and not include street bikes (with low BBs and whatnot).

Please post whatever you find and I'll edit this list as info comes in.

I forgot about this bike. I like it, too.

Well even though I know it's not the best choice I could have made, I am suggesting the Kilo TT Pro. I have been training on it and I don't have many complaints even though I did change out a few components. Tires, bars , cog and grips. But with saying that I am more than likely getting a T1 which I test rode and really liked the stiffness.

I have always liked the Giant Omnium as an entry level track bike, I have not spent much time on the Sram cranks, but they are pretty popular, so thats a nice upgrade for many from last year. https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/...um/9008/48841/

The TT is heavy, but it's a great budget-friendly bike.

Jon, after all the talking we did I was ready to pull the trigger and get the Kilo TT Pro. After discussing the few things I wanted to order for it with my wife, she asked why don't I just spend a little more and get a nicer one from the start and upgrade later. Hard to argue with that logic. Looking at parts, upgrades, and chatting with Carleton, I went to my LBS to order a TK3 only to find they're no longer a Felt dealer. So I'm ordering the TK3 tomorrow. Just seems to fit the bill. Same frameset as the TK2 and the only thing I'm going to pick up right now are tires.

The TK3 is not the same frame as the TK2. Im sure you have done your research and weighed your options, so I wont go on a long thing listing the differences, but they are different frames. Same fork though.

I stand corrected. Apparently I browsed over the frame description a hair too quickly and looking again found a few frame design differences. Either way, I'm psyched!

And no worries mate. As carleton said "budget friendly". Just gave you some info to get started. I am going to start on the kilo , but I have been blessed with a good paying job and I can buy any bike I want. I am just going to get started on the Kilo and see what happens from there. I don't want to rush into a purchase--- want to check things out and figure out what I really need in order to be faster-- good luck and see you at the track!

So... Tried to order a new TK3 today. Apparently they're scheduled to hit Cali in 3/13. I know it's not that far away but all this talk and excitement to learn the track and now I just have to hold on... I know my fitness is way off but I'm just pumped to learn the track, get comfortable, and continue riding into shape.

Not to be a debbie downer, but you should ask for some specific details on if you'll be able to actually get one of the bikes coming in next month. If 80 frames come in, maybe only 20 will be your size and those 20 may already be spoken for by shops that have standing orders that are in line before you.

I tried to buy a Felt TK1 in September 2010 and was told that it wouldn't be available till December of 2010. By April 2011 there still were none available. I'm not saying that the TK3 won't be available. I'm just saying that estimated shipping dates are just estimates. If you are looking to ride and race soon, I'd start working on a Plan B. Seriously.

Maybe call several shops around the state and in other states. The TK3 is a relatively inexpensive bike (when compared to 2, 3, & $4,000 road bikes) for a bike shop to carry in stock. The shop that I race for carried a few in stock. Coincidentally, that's how I found a TK1. A shop in Brooklyn called R&A Cycles had one in stock.

Or consider a totally different bike.

Please note that if you consider the Trek T1, the sizing is way off. Pay close attention to the Effective Top Tube, not the listed size. A "60cm" has an effective top tube of 58cm. I have no idea why they won't simply call it a 58. Anyway, read the geometry charts.

In the mean-time, read through a few pages of threads in this forum and feel free to ask more questions or resurrect threads.

That is pretty similar to what I did. worked well for me, and when I did get a nicer bike I had a much better idea of what I wanted in a bike.

The Trek T1 has several quirks - it also comes with a 130 bcd crank. I haven't swapped mine yet.
But, at 6'5" it was one of the few you have listed there that would work and was available. - A tall friend of mine cannot get one now, but the Fujis are close so he went with that.

One of these times I'm in Estes, I'll just buy a bike there. Household budget & appropriations committee approved that last fall, but the funds were diverted to cyclocross. Ewps.

Only time I've seen one of these unicorns in the wild was when United Healthcare had a few at their booth for the USAPROCYCLINGWHATEVER, and that was only their road and TT. They were sharp, though, and I've been a fan since.

Edit: Boardman currently has a pretty big role in terms of equipment selection / development for British Cycling's track team. At least according to the Richard Moore book.
