Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Copper miner’s ass. Butte, which I’ve visited thrice during tours, is known for its copper mining. One state resident called it “the arm pit of Montana.”

home of evel knievel and the oldest chinese restaurant in the us. And home of worlds best pasties and pork chop sandwiches. It was described as an island of money surrounded by a sea of whiskey in the Late 1800’s

Will be heading to Regina SK for work meetings later today. Will be there for the week. Forecast temperature starts off at -17F for the high. Should be warmer later in the week. Zero F is warm enough to ride.

Driving up, so I will take the Fat bike. A colleague who lives there has a snowmobile trail on his place and said I can ride as much as I want.

Don't expect to see any bears out and about. They should be hibernating.

In a couple months it will be 35 years I have been riding with this club. I've seen some cluster-esque.
at times our group would get split up - one or two riders would take off and not know the route … at times one of us would chase them and get them back on track … if not we would eventually be reunited …

but one time on a hot day one guy who would occasionally ride with the group began the ride with one small bottle of water - and the other bottle was used for tools / tube … we told him he would need both bottles of water but he resisted … he sped off the front maybe 2/3 of the way into the ride … we let him go - assumed we would catch up with him later during the ride … we never did find him or meet up with him … when we finished the ride his car was still in the parking lot where we started the ride … later after showers etc a bunch of us met for dinner at a local restaurant - we checked the parking lot - his car was still in the parking lot … later that evening (dark) the car was still in the parking lot - the only car in the lot

???

did not see him again … ever

My first long term gf had a mean, ornery drunk mother. Girlfriend insisted we get married before her mother died. Nope. My ex wife had a very sweet mother, couldn't have asked for her to be any nicer.
Current Mrs John's mother was abusive, psychologically anyway, but I never met her. She passed before Mrs and I met.
