WhyFi is looking skinny. I've disliked pink since the OP and GT Zoot Scoot days, but it looks nice on you.

I'm getting there. One day, you'll see - you'll all see. And rue. Lots of ruing.
I'll certainly have to stay honest and not backslide on the donut consumption, though - the fit right now will be perfect for a base layer or two. Then again, I still hope to drop another 5-10 before the snow flies.

Heck, I’ve given a few cars bad reputations. ‘74 Audi Fox and ‘74 Volvo 244 to name just two. They could just never be made into lemonade no matter how hard we tried.

I’ve ridden up Mt Rose Hwy from the Reno side. There’s also a couple of great mtb trails that come off Mt Rose Hwy.
Glad you’re liking the place. We’ll be in Tahoe in a few weeks.
We bought an EOY unit at Highlands Inn, so now we have a week every year in Tahoe and a week EOY in Carmel.

Don't know, I don't remember the crash. Was riding with friends and they don't know either. We were just companionably chatting and then I went down. Based on the location, it was probably a pavement issue. Had a concussion and a rib fracture. Mostly better now.

Honestly now is a pretty good time to buy a resale timeshare too. No one wants timeshares any more.

We are going to our Disneyland timeshare tomorrow, just a single night, with two days in the themeparks. We tried to buy tickets through a well known non-Disney ticket agent, which would have saved us $13. Woo hoo.
Terms of purchase were that they might take up to 24 hours to process the order, so I placed the order yesterday. I get an immediate email saying because of Hurricane Dorian (the agent is located in Daytona Beach) there might be a delay in processing. Obviously that would do me no good. I called them, no answer and they said not to leave a voice mail on account of Hurricane Dorian, email instead.
So I email them and I get no reply but the next day I get a text message saying they have put two holds on my credit card- one for a trivial amount and the other for the actual amount of my ticket purchase. The text says this is to avoid fraud. My next task is to call my crecit card company, find out the exact amount of the trivial hold, text them back with that dollar amount and then they'll process my order.
Wut? I don't have time for such convolutions. It was much faster to just call them and tell them to cancel my order please.

My wife got home and saw the jacket draped over a chair. The first thing out of her mouth was, "whoa - what's this?" After I explained/showed it, her next question was, "so, can I borrow it?"
I guess if I get too fat, it'll still get worn.

Tried a new middle eastern place today. A hole in the wall called King Gyros.
I got the souvlaki, which varies a lot from place to place.
Here it was super tasty thin boneless pork chops on yellow rice. cauliflower, green beans and eggplant stewed in tomato sauce. Salad with a very dilly tzatziki.

The purchase we just made is a platinum every-even-year 1BR week 18 at Highlands Inn in Carmel, which is 2000 points. A little confusing because Highlands Inn 1BR weeks trade as 2BR weeks, allegedly because they’re “premium”. (To explain why a 1BR unit yields so many points.) They do have daily housekeeping which is nice.
So we have a 2 year cycle. This year, we got access to 2000 pts week 18 (early May) and then 1880 points week 22 (early June). So a total of 3880 points this year. The most “expensive” 4BR units are only 3700 points so we could literally book anything in the system this year (subject to availability of course). You don’t get any additional benefits for owning a Diamond week, just more points. I think you could argue for buying only Diamond or Platinum weeks, but what we own now works really well for us.
In the second year of our cycle, we only have access to the High Sierra week, or 1880 points.
We love Sedona in Nov, which is silver season there. 1BR units at Hyatt Pinon Pointe are only 960 per week. If we had the time, we could spend 4 weeks there ever other year! I wish.
