Drivers on the roads I am familiar with are not familiar with encountering bicyclists in the dark. (Anytime, really, but much more so in the dark).

I had Rail52s and currently have Jet6+s; I don't notice much (any) difference. I'd made depth the last determinant (either way) and focus much more on the shape, width, quality, and brake track (if rim brake).

In my experience, with a bright rear blinkie, drivers give me MORE room when passing at night. Of course, I try to ride on roads with minimal traffic whenever possible.

When I was younger, I'd get up early and ride before work (which was always very understanding - my whole career, I've come in late-ish), but if I haven't been doing it, it's a chore to motivate myself.

Okay, so I mentioned a while back that my HR zones seem to have shifted a lot, like RHR dropping down to the 41-43 range from 47-49, and perceived Lactate Threshold dropping from 164 to 159. Well, now I have DATA!!!
Yesterday's "Last Post-work Ride" turned out to be a route that I've done 6 times in the last 12 months (per Strava), so I put together a table in Excel of the Average and Max HR and Speed.
So, a year ago, when I did the same route 1.3 mph SLOWER than this year, my average HR was 20 bpm HIGHER, and I was able to push over 180 bpm at least twice on that ride. Even in July of 2020, I was still hitting 176, and the July 10 ride looks a lot like the 30 October 2019 ride. But between July and October, only 3 months, I got 1-1.5mph FASTER with 12 bpm LOWER average HR.
Not complaining, because who's going to complain about being FASTER? But I'm sure curious. I've had to revamp my HR Zones twice now.

Disc, I told her to look at light bicycles wheels but also included superteam. Not really sure how much she would be willing to spend. I think the light might be stretch.
I also asked for new rotors and a cassette with the wheels. Plan on making my old wheels for gravel.

Not one of the top cantatas, but a solid B in my book and a beautiful performance from one of the best groups on the world. The text has something to do with the contest of belief and doubt in the human mind, I am told.
Whats your interest in it and what is your religious background? Being of Swiss extraction, I guess you could be Lutheran, Calvinist, Roman Catholic, or something else from the American smorgasbord. Being a Jew, I find many of Bach’s texts pretty foreign, but I am often so moved by the music that I feel almost ready to believe.

Kudos on the improvement but to accurately quantify your gains, you need a power meter investment. I'm in the same situation and I personally wouldn't do it since it's prolly $1,000. Still, you've undoubtedly improved.

This is why I compare more or less identical rides. Now, of course, I weigh 20lb less than I did in July, so that's also a confounding variable. But I don't plan to gain 20lbs to control for it!

Fun club ride today, only about 50? miles but headwind on the way out which includes a 15 mile stretch of false flat/gradual climb with a few rollers. On the way back there is a steep descent for about 1/3 of a mile and they caught me napping. I rode the 15 miles alone, spinning the 50x12 and I closed in a couple times but could not bridge until the small hills came up. Fun stuff.
