Saddle turned up in the post today, a black Brooks B15 Swallow... $140 NZD from totalcycling.com as opposed to $325 NZD locally sourced... (SCORE!) My impatience and minimal income persuaded me to not get the weight-weeny titanium option... But gee it was worth going hungry just to order a saddle a week early.
I may get around to photographing it, or I'll wait until I have some clips and straps fitted too... Or both. Also, Velox Jantex is a walk in the park for tubular tire fitting... I tried Tubasti on the front wheel, gee it's messy stuff, probably holds more securely, but it's like rubbing on half-dried "kiddy glue" (PVA)... Jantex tape is just fantastic at saving your sidewalls. My originals plans were to use Vittoria Mastik, which is favoured well among racers, but it's not so accessible here in New Zealand, and I'd hate to be waiting a week or two for more in an emergency situation...
Anyway, the bike rides nicely, a few comfort-related tweaks might be necessary, feels very light in the front end. Weighed it on the bathroom scales (holding it, remove my own weight from the total) and it came in around 8 1/2 KG. That's Columbus SL tubing... nothing too fancy. Frame was built in 1996.

Just finished my Viscount last night and have only done a half mile so far, rides great. Still has shakedown ride pedals on it in the pic. Has Shimano RSX 7 speed shifters, Shimano 600 RD, RX100 FD, Dura Ace 7 speed freewheel, Weinmann 605 sidepull brakes and a mismatched set of wheels, Mavic rear and Weinmann front. Total invested, around $100, the bike was $40, the bike the wheels, derailleurs and brakes came off was $15 and the shifters and freewheel were part of a great parts haul I scored earlier this year for $25 for the shifters and $5 for the NOS freewheel. Plus misc like bar wrap and cables.
Edit: wow the fork looks weird in this pic, checked it out and looks straight, must be odd angle

^nice. soo pretty.
a quick suggestion: there are 26.0 diameter bars (that can fit into a quill stem) that have STI specific bends (shorter reach, shallower drop) now.
https://www.somafab.com/archives/product/highway-1-bar
If I knew there were bars like this before with my STI-Retro roadie build I would't have went through all the trouble of converting it to a threadless setup and stuck with the more photogenic quill stem.

This is not my bicycle, it's a from a friend of mine, he sports the Procraft handlebars on his Colnago:
https://www.pedalroom.com/bike/colnag...cor-1993-13660
Has grooves for cables on both back and front of the handlebar. Bontrager SSR VR-C are also compact bars with 26mm diameter, but they don't have cable grooves!

Sorry, sounds a bit extreme, but when you said Viscount... my mind said "Death Fork". If this is an aluminium fork, have it replaced immediately, they are known to fail at the crown where the steerer is pressed in and have caatstrophic consequences.
Also, how do your hoods feel to ride on? The levers look like they're sitting considerably too low down on the handlebars...

I remember seeing them on a blog somewhere.
They are 31.8s, which can be problematic for some of us.
Looked like a great fit with Campy Ergos.
I didn't see them on the Salsa blog, so I'll see if I can't find them after the boys' basketball practice.

I am neither old nor in skinny jeans and I ride soma hwy 1s. Instead of using them to raise my drops, I used them to get my hoods lower without making my drops lower.
