Maybe it did, sales-wise or popularity-wise. What it also did, critically, was change the gameplay from sneaking to combat, with enemies that can survive a sneak attack (and some that are just pitched boss battles). It also brought character levels and "you must grind more to play in this area", skill points, and generally turned into an entirely different game. Oh and microtransactions and "log in every day" incentives. It's a fun game, but it's not as compelling to me. Now 5/ Unity was a disaster I mostly gave up on.

Train to Pittsburgh and hotel for the first night are booked for 9/11.
Not my preferred route, but within my current wheelhouse if I take it slow and do short-ish days:

Map does not include PGH to Cumberland, MD via the GAP, which will be 150 miles over 3 days. Day 4 is 47 miles with 3,100' of climbing. I've done this route before. The cumulative effect of the the hills in that section get to you. Constant up or down the entire time. Just shortly before the campground there is a 1 mile climb with a ruling grade of 10%. The next day I get to ride the section of abandoned PA Turnpike.

The ambient temperature in the tunnels in the summer is in the 50s. When I rode it in 2013 it was warm a humid out. The tunnels were a welcome relief. When I exited the second one you could feel the heat and humidity hit about 40’ away. I went back to the portal for a rest break. It was like standing in front of an air conditioner. Due to the rough road and the tunnels, the entire 8.5 stretch takes about an hour. Saw two people walking the entire time. I’m actually considering stealth camping back there, but that might be too creepy.

so while giving my bike a lube job I discovered what has been causing my bike to sound scruffy. My cassette is loose. Not by much but enough that I can shake it back and forth. Anything special I need to do other than tighten it?

My front derailer rubs when I am on big ring and on the three largest cogs. I had tried to get it to stop when I first got the bike but it would start rubbing from the other direction. I shrugged it off because being a flat lander I never use those gears. With that being said it’s something else I want to address.

Torque the lock ring up tight, 40-50 n-m I believe.

Torque it up, but make sure the lock ring isn’t bottoming out because you’re missing a spacer.

I did. It didn’t feel right to me. I applied a lot of force and it would move a little bit then stop, move the same amount then stop. I did it about four times but it didn’t feel like I was tightening anything almost felt like my lock ring was slipping but I verified that it wasn’t. Still the same amount of play as before I tried to tighten it.
I then tried to take it off using a chain whip but it wouldn’t budge at all. Of course now I really want to ride tomorrow.
The play isn’t noticeable if I rock the small cog back and forth but If I rock the largest cog back and forth you can see play and hear it.
Not really sure what to do. The lock ring is def torqued to 40 nm, I wonder if the play has always been there if that is even possible.

When you say you're rocking the cog "back and forth", do you mean that you're rotating it on the freehub shell in the same direction the chain pulls on it, or moves laterally parallel to the axis of the axle?

seems to be the the idea most agreed upon.
So two things, if I am able to get this cassette off and that turns out that it is missing is this something my LBS would carry? Can I call Competitive Cycles and ask them to send me what they forgot to put on?
Also, is it okay to ride it this way until I figure out how to get it off?
