Well done. Long threshold intervals on the trainer are brutal.

Felt tired after WRIs on Tuesday and 9 innings of "squats" last night (baseball umpire), but thought I could manage some Z2 spinning today. Wrong! Even after an extended warmup, I barely seemed able to hold watts in the low endurance range. Maybe I should've listened to my body and just stayed home this evening...

Doing that kind of work on the trainer is Beast Mode status, for sure. Nice ride @grolby.

Decided to drop in on the Fiesta Island "Worlds" ride, despite being tired and having a rainy forecast. I was tired and groggy all day from training hard (3rd "on" week), having to get up early for work, and having a few to drink with the lady last night. But when I got out there I just felt super good on the bike, funny how that happens some times.

By the numbers:
27.2 mph for the 53 min duration, small field of 15 or 16 that split in half about 35 min in. I made the front. 282w avg, NP a fair bit higher (haven't checked).

By feel:
Like I said, just awesome. I reckon I did more work on the front than all but 2 riders, one of whom is a local cat 1 superstar on KHS-Maxxis p/b Jakroo. He gave me a high 5 after the last lap and asked me what my name was, so I figure that means I had a good ride too .

I got rained on during the ~25 minute spin back home, but it was totally worth it, just grinning the whole time and feeling great.

Easy 40 minutes last night. Was feeling kind of tired (my legs and just physically/mentally tired from the month end close at work). Definitely one of those days where TSB lies, it was something like +2

90mins mix of z2 and z3 (holt hill on trainerroad). I haven't given zwift workout mode enough of a chance, I tend to revert to trainerroad, I guess I'm just comfortable with their selection of sessions and I like how their canned plans are structured.

I'm sticking with trainerroad and just using zwift for entertainment value (and I upload the zwift file to TP, strava, etc. since I often do back to back TR workouts and I want an uninterrupted file to upload). I just like that the workout part of TR is offline.....I've had too many dropouts with zwift to trust it with that. Their training plans are also great, although I find myself deviating and kinda just using their basic structure as a reference a lot.

Meanwhile, today I did 2 hrs z2/z3 ish (.85 IF, 159 TSS). Legs felt good considering the two hard TR workouts the last 2 days (Lamarck and Bird-1).

Operation Ruin My Legs for the First Road Race of the Year: highly successful. Though I have admit, they felt much better at the end of 1 1/2 hours of Z2 today than they did at the beginning.

I've definitely heard people say that kickrs and other power trainers read optimistic vs a PM. Now if you're just using a PM for both...you cray.

Not a psycho. You might unusually well-cooled indoors, plus those fancy rollers probably help. Or, just as likely, your discipline at staying in zone outdoors is crap right now. Last few times I've ridden with you, you've been very punchy on the climbs and lazy over the top. More time riding with power will probably cure that, you've had it for what, less than a month? I've become much more conscious since getting a PM of dialing back a bit on the climbs and holding steady over the top and on the descent.

Trying really hard to work on my mental game lately. My coach dug me into a big hole heading into yesterday's B/C race. I couldn't even get through my openers on Friday...and yet I came out and smashed it yesterday even though I was racing with a TSB around -20.

Sigh...better just trust the guy, I guess.

Dropped from my ride today.

Maybe only riding two days a week for two weeks is not a good idea after all.

Well, it may change his riding style; but calling it a "cure" is highly debatable.
