After yesterday's hard race, slept 10 hours. Woke up lazy and sat around watching the rain. Got super bored and didn't know what else to do so went out for a couple hours with 1x20 at 98%, which was really hard after yeaterday.

Road race today! 199 TSS in 2:16. Reasonably efficient. IF of .94. Is that really high for two hours? My legs feel like it was, but I honestly don't know. Closing out the week at 802 TSS - tied for my record.
Edit: Ah, right - DNF'd a road race last year with an IF of 1.05 in 2:07. So .94 is kinda high but not THAT high.
Outdoors, it doesn't bother me at all.

My boss text me last night that he's playing at least one round of golf this morning and he'll see me after lunch. Looks like a 3 hour ride to the lake this morning for me

I've got one normal training week in after an unplanned couple weeks off the bike and slowly digging out of the fitness hole. 44/+3 at the moment. Trying to decide if I should go do the weeknight crit tomorrow or if it would just be frustrating and I should give it another week. What would the collective you do?

Go pedal in circles and show em the biznass! The worst case scenario is you pop, but that'll be OK because it means you got in a killer workout, which is what you're looking for coming back from your time off.

Isn't it going to rain?

Forecast now has the rain ending midday. They might still cancel though, I guess. Or maybe even probably cancel, I think their tolerance for a wet course is pretty low.

If nothing else turnout will probably be light. Long drive for you. If you're really asking, I'd probably wait.
Weekday crits have low tolerance for bad weather, mainly because of the reduced turn out

I was really asking and I appreciate the advice.
I think it's moot now though, my wife who is an elected official just got invited to a private meeting with a presidential candidate tomorrow afternoon, and that bumps everything else off the calendar. But that's all I'm going to say about it because P&R.

SubLT work today. My body feels tired, but my legs responded once I got going. I need to start shifting the mix to more high intensity work. I love the Sweet Spot, but I can see that it's also a trap.

Congrats. I'm kicking myself for missing that one, but I scheduled our vacation back when the promoter was still talking about it being a gravel race. If I'd known it was going to morph into a stage race with no gravel I would have scheduled things so I could've been there.

My ride went longer than 3 hours...such a beautiful morning. You know it's a good day when you are still on a bike at noon!

I think I overtrained coming out of my slumber in the last few weeks. this week was supposed to be a rest week, but I couldn't help but go on a long, hard ride. despite resting the other days, my legs still feel fatigued.. I suppose it's probably a good idea to force myself to actually do z2 when I set out to do z2.

Today was supposed to be a 20 min Test to start a new block. Legs were still tired and sore from racing Sun and doing tests inside on a trainer at the crack of dawn sucks, so did 60' on kickr with a 20' interval at FTP.
