"Old frame with Ergos ? - think I've got this one ..."
Been following this interesting thread for a while and finally have a pic. of my bike to add.
I built this bike to ride to work on fair weather days ( I have another with full mudguards ).
Turned out to be a 1975 Tommasini - decided to have it properly resprayed, soon.
My first Ergos too, love 'em. Much better than 6 speed downtube friction shifters ( for me ).
Would think twice about a 144bcd chainset next time - smallest ring 41t.
Ambrosio conversion cassette works fine, once set up properly, with Campagnolo shifters and Shimano Hubs

My submission: 1985(?) Cilo, with an 8spd DA 7400 STI group I've had in a box for 6mo. Finally put it all together.

Thanks! Agree about the seatpost. This one takes a 26.6, which is somewhat harder to find in DA or other nicer Shimano.
Cool! I think I found mention of your Cilo in other threads when sourcing the BB (Italian) and headset (was Italian threaded, now ISO). It's a solid ride, with a somewhat low profile b/c of the brand.
You happen to know the model name?

Not if you knew what was in them.
Beeeeautiful. This reminds me a lot of a previous Ironman posted, same color scheme, with Campy Khamsins. Really nice build there.

Whoa boy...
When I have an entire afternoon to resize pics, you'll be sorry you looked at this thread. I put them on everything, even mountain bikes.

It's not exactly vintage yet I suppose, but here's my 2001 LeMond Buenos Aires rebuilt with a 5700-series 105 groupset.
This bike originally came with 5500-series 105 components, so really I think I'm just keeping it fresh. The black crankset may have been a bit too much. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
I'm thinking about doing something like this with the Pinarello I've been asking about. I think that bike would look fantastic with an 11-speed Athena group. Plus it's got Superbe components right now so I feel like going from period correct Japanese parts to modern Campagnolo is a step in the right direction (and I'm not likely to put together a complete mid-80s Gran Sport group).

Makes a big difference in how "heavy' the crankset ends up looking.
Try red housings, lighten up the crankset area and put some red Elite Ciussi cages on, and I think it would snap.

This idea I'm not so sure about. I don't generally like to have too many colors on a bike (the world champion stripes on this frame notwithstanding).

That is either an extremely useful bike or you have a "tendency," shall we say?
