Come Monday* the statewide mask mandate will be lifted. Outdoors, indoors, except in hospitals and clinics. Nothing will change irl.

I think that is reasonable. It may still make sense to mask up on a crowded bus or in a crowded theater etc., but that this point in the process it should be optional. I asked my contacts if/when it might be optional in healthcare facilities (like my work) and am told not anytime soon.

Well that kicked my butt yesterday.
Got rained on really hard about 15 miles in and didn’t dry off until I stopped for a beer at mile 40. Then it was 3k of rollers for the next 25 miles.
The last climb was absolutely brutal, about a mile and a half of nothing less than 10% with a lot of 15%-20% switchbacks. I think I had to stop 4 or 5 times to keep my legs from cramping. Maybe tomorrow I’ll do a morning ride and try and get revenge.
Pretty, though!

The hawk was out this morning while I was waiting for the bus—both literally and figuratively.

Quiet afternoon. Everyone must be researching the use of WES to determine TMB.

Well, make sure to wipe your feet on the doormat when you get home. You don't want to be tracking disease across the carpet.

There is a bunch of chatter amongst my friends regarding tomorrow's ride. I would love to do a century with lots of hillclimbs. They are trying to cut the proposed course from 65 miles to 60 miles. Sad!
At least I can extend the ride by riding to/from the start which buys me an extra 16 miles and 1600 feet of climbing.

Literal thinking is one of the hallmarks of being On The Spectrum. I think it's why so many of us are punsters - when someone says something that could be interpreted different ways, including with puns, we get them all at the same time.

I am ok with that. My cyclist friend from Menlo Park told me that the area has a HUGE population of people on the spectrum. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I think this is a significant factor in the increasing diagnoses of ASD - nerds flourishing and finding other nerds with whom to procreate.

While there I went out to lunch with 5 of the guys and the transmission tech bought my lunch. I ate way too much and now I'm feeling it.

I was in the woodshop perfecting my dovetail technique.
Good enough for who it's for.
I really need a dedicated saw.

And frankly, after wandering through the city streets yesterday to and from our bus transporrt and lunch, there are a lot of people who just don't seem to understand what the world has just been through and insist on passing close to others despite there being plenty of space elsewhere.
Came home, had a bit of a nap (which is something that happens daily for brain injured people), then did a nice indoor ride on Zwift because it rained outside.
Both Zwift and Strava have been little god-send to me for a couple of winters now. With their help and after some good riding outside with Machka, I am about to top my annual distance each of the past four years, which I am really grateful for.

How do I figure out what size seatpost I would have to buy for my cervelo? I’ve been trying to search for the specs but all I can find is the seatpost model that came with the bike, not the size. It’s not in the manual I have for it either.
