Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

C'mon Dan, maybe he is more relaxed now. Maybe he put virtual ice under the virtual "boys". A virtual vasectomy can be challenging.

I'm kind of torn on this. On the one hand, it's nice that he acknowledged our virtual time together.

On the other hand, he did so after the fact, as if his workout was so important that he couldn't take a moment to perform a sweaty alt+tab and look up keyboard shortcuts for the game so that he could wave right back at me.

Should I kudos him back?

Is 1 virtual kudo = 1 real kudo, or not?

Each day I use this program, there are just more questions than answers.
You are scaring me...

Good, that means they won't reproduce...

You should use the special keystroke to give them "the look" and then dial it up to 400W and drope the hamer.

500 waves unlocks the middle finger perk. Keep it up!

1000 waves unlocks the M1911 perk.

Am I the only one who thinks this would be more fun if mixed with Battlefield 4?

No. I want the grenade option for "those groups."

When will bike shops migrate to the digital age and start selling digital bikes? Maybe they'll start a virtual bike parts shop where you can upgrade your bike to be whatever you want.

Please discuss.
Don't worry too much if the triathletes don't wave back. The F2 key on their computer may have been rendered inoperable due to them having peed on their keyboard.

I know you're joking, but I bet you it isn't far off for Zwift. You can already "unlock" real bikes and such, it probably won't be long before they're running tests to see if they can get people to pay to use certain brands/frames in the game. It doesn't have to be much, a few thousand people paying 99 cents to ride a Dogma or whatever would help monetize the whole thing. It's like the "freemium" thing that most apps/games are moving towards on cell phones.

Please disregard this post, as it was not sufficiently sarcastic for my thread.

They've already monetized it. It went subscription late last year.

At least so far, it seems like they're generally using the real world bikes (and high end wheels) as rolling commercials by/for the manufacturers.

Paying for training simulators isn't really unheard of...Trainer Road, Sufferfest, Bkool, etc. As far as I know, Golden Cheetah is the only free option.

Personally, I don't really mind it, as long as the price stays reasonable.

I can't see it being much more than $10-$15 a month. I just don't think it'd attract many people past that price point. Will have to see if Zwift goes up at all or changes their pricing structure so it's cheaper if you buy more months.

BKool currently has it where you pay $15/month or $12/month for a yearly membership (however, you can get your money back for up to 3 months if you don't use the simulator).
